Yesterday was a special day for many people.me ,my daughter , my wife and my partner. As I drove to the house where I my partner was staying.I had this terrible thought what if my daughter does not like her.I turned to my daughter, she looked happy.It was her that had asked me about my partner whilst in Cyprus.I at first told her that it was a little bit difficult to talk about these things,but she got round me and made me spill the beans. To my surprise, She became so happy saying things like "well done daddy" "fantastic" She cuddled me tight and held me in bed all night long. Last week whilst I was talking on the phone, She asked if she could talk to her.I had no objection.
Now outside the house ringing the bell on her own.I saw my daughter older taking things into her own hands. She cuddled my partner as she arrived and they got on so well, almost like sisters. I could not separate them.
We walked later in the streets and I think for the first time for all three of us we felt like we were a Family.
If I have learned one thing it is:If your child asks you a question, answer it truthfully.

That is lovely, i am so happy for you it must be a relief. I thoroughly agree with you honesty is the best policy Kids are so sensible are'nt they sometimes i think mine are more grown up than me lol |

How wonderful. So happy for you. I've yet to cross that bridge, have re-kindled a relationship that should have been many years ago. Good on ya Alan, so pleased for you. We seem to have started this journey together and are both coming out happier people - dont you think so? GKx |
