The quietman is back almost to his old self. I have been the happiest man on this planet for the last two months. Children have all made contact with me and having been a good boy and kept my mouth shut, courts have backed off. I am so happy. My two sons have become men. My eldest son turns eighteen this month and his seventeen year brother has left home and moved back to Cornwall. I have spoken on the phone to my youngest daughter and although it left me in tears, Iwas crying for joy. I have even had a verbal kick up the bottom from my fourteen year old daughter. After a very long phonecall I realised she is wiser than myself for her years. She told me that that good women outnumber good men 12 to 1. So start looking!!
So I have banished bitterness, loneliness and sadness to outside my front door. It was one hell of a tunnel but I have just punched through into the bright light once more. The smiler is back.
Found a sport I enjoy and am getting better at. I feel that after my daughters advice that 2009 will be a great year. I am getting out of my flat more at weekends and making new friends. Smiling at work so much, they are thinking I have a new girlfriend already.
Although I now live on minimum wage, I am able to look forward to Christmas, were I will stay with my mother in London and pop into Kent and see my children in the flesh. Coming home to Northern Ireland has helped me recover and saved me from the abyss of bitterness. Lots of people here told me to be patient and they were right. Thank you all for your kind words and advice.
My friends box totals 1 at moment.
My new target before end of this year is five. Five new chums to come home to and tell them about my day.

Welcome back smiler! What a bright fresh and positive blog! Good for you! Have read your blogs, you have obv been through the wringer in the last year, I am so glad to read that your contact with your children in intact and that you are sounding so postive and relishing the new sports, targets and making friends.
