I'm Here - Justice prevails!Posted by BumpHercar in my day today, good day, attending court |
Dear wiki family,
Thank you so much for your kind words and support over the past week.
It's been one hell of a time for me and my family, but I'm still here to tell the tale!
Phew!
The magistrates & court clerk were reasonable and, I believe sympathic. On the down side -I have been banned for 12 months! Oh Hell - well we'll deal with that tomorrow! On the good side -I don't have to pay ugli mistress any compensation (thank the lord!) and I don't have to pay any fines!
So tonight lets celebrate with a few glasses of wine and good company in Chat. Justice Prevails!
Tomorrow I'm off to buy a bike pump, a lock and some lights - If anyone asks I'm in training for the 2012 mountain biking event!!
Love to you all.
Sx

Sarah, So glad that justice prevailed for you! If only there was a law about ugli mistresses stealing your man ...... all in the world would be rosy! Just think how toned and slim you will be after a year of cycling .... Could be the making of you .... and think how guilty he will be!!! Breathe easy ,,, enjoy your wine ... tomorrows another day. Take Care Jess |

(((((Sarah))))), A 12 month ban is going to be a bind but at least it is over and it could have been a lot worse. There are some practicalities involved with a ban which I list below. I hope they don't dampen your mood, they're meant as help: Unfortunately you will need to let your insurer know and you could apply for and get a refund on the remaining months of the car insurance policy. If no one else is using the car you could fill out a SORN form, get money back on the months of the tax-disc that won't be used and park the car off-road somewhere. Remember that after expiry of a ban you will need to apply to the DVLA for your licence, they won't remind you and the ban will affect your future car insurance premiums. Best wishes, YA |

Great news Sarah - I read your blog and thought that you could so easily be me - I have no idea what I would do if I saw OW but I know I wouldn't think before acting. You will enjoy cycling - fresh air and fitness in the face of adversity! Glad this stage is over for you - keep going |

What lovely news, Sarah. Very glad for you ... and relieved that the justice system has worked properly in your case. The ban is a nuisance, but you may find, as I did five years ago, that after the initial shock of not having access to a car, you start making adjustments and ... lo and behold ... after a while you feel a bit better off (pay cheque may as well have simply made its way straight from bank to exhaust pipe in the driving days) and freer in your options. I walk and cycle everywhere now (definitely fitter in both senses!) and the money freed up by no car insurance etc etc pays for taxis back from the supermarket or from going out. The main thing is that this hurdle is behind you, and those worries about the wider community have receded. Time now to concentrate on what the Spanish proverb calls the very best revenge: living well. |
