My day today

Well I went for my interview today & I got the job cleaning in a residential home. I'm a bit apprehensive about coming of benifits & going on a monthly salary, but i'm sure my son & I will manage. I start my job next monday the exact day tht I started recieving benifits when he left me with nothing. I'm going to see my lone parent adviser on thursday. I'm really shocked at the help & suport tht they offer & it will be great knowing tht she will still be there for me up to 6 months after I start work.

I spoke to my stbx today for the first in months. We chatted for around 3 hours on the fone. I would of liked us to of spoke the way we did today back last yr, not tht I don't think it would of changed anything. It was hard hearing him say tht he still loved & thought about me. I really didn't want to hear him say tht :(

I'm starting my new life although i'm alittle scared, I got me & my son this far so I know I can go the rest of the way x

Well don Sanc ,

I hope you get on with the system of change in circumstance, the fact that you got a job and are independent is the way forward. I went out to work in Sainsburys just to get away from my sons father.I went out in principle for £5 a week better off.The truth is I did not want to be in doors lonely on my own with a young child to bring up on my own.I got into trouble with child care it had to be registered , I paid my friends daughter.I got stung for housing benefit, most of the single mums did. I had to go back on benefit.If you get into debt there is funding available by the government to claim .I won mine and got the debt wiped off.
I think you are brilliant, I have done cleaning of pubs when I was out of work and I was on £18 an hour doing ironing as well.
