So another week goes by, this week I set myself the task of getting back in touch with an old friend, doing something about finding a job that I find more challenging, drinking only at the weekend (almost there now!) and exercising more.
Well I have to report, that I have been able to put a tick against every one of these seemingly simple tasks, and just as I thought I feel like bit by bit I am putting my life back in order.
The old friend, who I hadnt spoken too for probably 5 years plus, knew me and the ex pretty well, from before we were married, she said that she wasnt surprised that we had split and that she was happy for me!
So today the sun is shinning, in many ways, and tonight I am able to have half a shandy and meet up with some friends, as the children are with mum tonight, back tomorrow to me, a bit of kung-fu panda and bowling lined up and a day trip into london on sunday, and then another week of being positive.
I am not sure who I might try and make contact with next week, but I am finding out gradually that other than the children element, I made the right decision and that I have some great friends, even though I wasnt very good at keeping in touch during the dark days of my marraige!
For those of you who are going to wikistock this weekend, have a great time, eat, drink and be merry, I hope that you are able to connect as well in person as you have on-line, I am sure you will, if the last london meet was anything to go by, sorry I had to duck out early fo3.
Thought for the day, "lets ave it"! half a shandy that is!
Yours
GM

Seems like it's working out well for you. Being able to put a tick in the box is great, it helps you realise that you've achieved something. No matter how small it may appear, to you or to anyone else, it means you can end each day or each week with the feeling that there's more to life than sitting around brooding, and that every day is worth while. Thanks for sharing this - it's an inspiration to me and to anyone else who's stuck in the doldrums. |
