Its my birthday today been married for nearly 20 years, have a daughter of 15, soon to be ex is an adulterous bla bla, lost job as worked with him, and now the house is for sale. Where the hell do I turn still in shock. :-((

Happy Birthday. 40 is a good age to be. Decide to celebrate, regardless of the shock. Do something you want to do - even if it's just a cup of coffee in a favourite coffee shop or buying yourself some fancy soap. It should be something you enjoy - and while you enjoy it, tell yourself this is something that is all for you. You'll get over the shock in the end - though it will take time. But in the meantime, you need to value yourself, alone as well as with friends. Take note of the good moments and enjoy them. Good luck - and celebrate! You're worth it. |

Happy Birthday,,i hope you can enjoy it. Its an obvious fact that your self esteem will be low but try and think of the positives rather than the negatives.As previous poster said do something just for you and enjoy doing it,just try and believe that you are a human being who is going through a tough time but you will be able to get to the end of the tunnel intact and see the light of day.Hold your head up in moments of rebellion and quietly ponder in moments when you don't feel so strong and positive.Try to have positive friends around you when you feel low as this always helps,take care and good luck,Sherri. | |

Happy Birthday, I find it helps to do a little living in the here and now. Like small treats, buy some flowers or a potted plant, new underwear. You could get a better job, get a better man and a better life. Its a shock and a nasty ending, but also a new beginning. You are young. 50 is the new 40. Shelia |
