Houswife Finds The SunPosted by rubytuesday in my story, happiness, children |
Spring is here, there are cute baby lambs in the fields, the spring flowers are in bloom and the clocks have gone forward. The long dark winter days are finally gone, and I for one, am enjoying the sunshine.
I have resolved to be more positive and upbeat in my blogs – too much navel-gazing is bad for my posture! Time to put my shoulders back, and face the sun! There is so much out there that is good and enriching, and I don’t want to miss out again.
My girls and I lived for too long in the dark, but now we are back in the sun, and what a difference in them! They are both creative, and now have the freedom to explore that creativity (even though it means D2 often makes a mess!), they are happy, bright young people, and their enjoyment of life now is obvious and delightful. Gone are the children who felt it best to hide in their bedrooms, only coming out at mealtimes, too scared to express their own thoughts and opinions, instead they are quick to let me know how they feel and their thoughts on all subjects, whether it is what is for tea, or world affairs (D1 has been closely following the USA Presidential elections). For me, the realisation that I had accepted my marriage was over quite some time ago is, in many ways, a relief. It means that now I can move forwards, and onwards, ready to embrace all that life has to offer me, I know that I am strong enough now to deal with the bad stuff and welcome the good times. I am not sure if I have rediscovered the “old” me, more that I am finding there is a whole new me, ready to enjoy life.

The sun really helps, doesn't it? As I drove from one side of the country to the other on Monday, leaving behind my kids, my home, and my wife, I had the windows open, the music on, and I felt alive. It's so good to hear you doing so well, Ruby. xxx |
