Thanks to those who replied to 'entry 1' and so quickly. I didn't really expect anyone to read this!
Not much to report today. The builder and plumber have nearly finished refitting the bathroom, pretty galling that I won't be here to enjoy it. Have arranged for the estate agent to give me a valuation on thursday. His advice is that selling right now is not a good idea so will consider renting it out. We've only been here 2 years so little equity. Perhaps that is a good thiing but we can't afford the mortgage individually so some thing has to give.
Spoke to the children on the phone earlier, they seem to be having a good time with Grandma. Off to France for a day trip tmorrow apparently - told them to practise their french. Not sure they appreciated that. Good to talk to them however. I really hope that despite everything the children do not resent either of us. They don't deserve this hassle.

hi alan, am in similar situation in that we have been doing up house for 5 yrs only to sell it as neither can afford to take it on. hope it all works out for you, you sound like a really caring dad, only wish my stbx was like that. still lives in same house but does nothing with our kids, just hope they see sense when we move. take care loobyloo747 |
