When tears don't comePosted by quiet_man in dealing with emotions |

The last twelve months have hit me with more bad stuff than I can believe. Lost several close relatives, a couple of friends have committed suicide, and now separation after 20 years.
Unsurprisngly, I've been upset, hurt, and in despair much of the time.
But I still haven't cried. Is that odd?

Mong - you are not alone, I too, have not cried since my husband left. Some of us are, by nature, not cryers (I believe), but deal with our emotions in another way, this doesnt make us any less human or emotional than those who do cry. We all have our own ways of coping, and maybe you and I (and others who dont cry) find that blogging is our "release", our tears, if you will. Stay strong, Ruby x |

No it isn't odd at all Mong. After we split, I sat on the floor in my lounge in the dark every night after kids were asleep and cried for about 4 months. But it wasn't until a year and a half later that I really allowed the emotions out and, well, broke down pretty bad. so a year and half it was for me really. It took the death of a close relative to tip the balance. You have had an awful lot to deal with in the past 12 months, give yourself time to deal with it all. Rosie x |

Mong, I am not affraid to admit that it is only recently that i have stopped crying, over 2 years of pain is finally coming to an end. Was all the crying woth it, i think so as it freed up alot of positive emotions that were being drowned by negative ones. take it easy Ricky. |

I haven't cried either when my husband walked away after 31 yrs of marriage because I know he is the loser,the only time i cry is when angry.When I feel upset ,usually it is to do with the children ,I put some nice music have booggie by myself it does help. | |

Tears came today. They came when my youngest burst into tears and begged me not to leave, and then begged me to take her with me. The love of a child for a parent is the most touching and heartbreaking thing in the world. | |
