TherapeuticPosted by absolution in moving on, accepting its over |
Today I've had another concerted effort at packing, mainly concentrating on getting rid of old paperwork. Normally I wouldn't dare throw away a single piece of paper in case it would be needed in future but today I thought what the hell, I am going to chuck away as much of the past as I can to feel unencumbered.
I came across an old will I'd made which in the event of my death would leave everything to the ex and our joint tax credit awards. I expected to get upset but surprisingly I didn't. I felt nothing and ripped them up with great relief and satisfaction.
Could this be the acceptance that I have been striving for so long?

Hey It just shows you are growing stronger now, and im pleased. Little by little life will become more enjoyable, and those crappy days become less frequent. Going forward you can do anything you want too now..nobody to answer too. This is something many wikis say they gladly welcome. Look after yourself DA |

The tearing up of things connnected with such a long marriage has to be a significant step in acceptance. A short time ago you would have hung on to every scrap related to what you'd lost. The will was redundant, useless now and so had to go. Well done. I think this move is proving therapeutic in more ways than just the physical move. A good clearing out! Good luck with the actual move. Enjoy being with your girl. It's a chance to get some of the closeness back. Love to you both Mitchum x |

Well done Abs... I cut up my wedding dress last week I found it in a tescos bag in the cupboard under the stairs. So I cut off the useful fabric (going to be a fairy dress for one of my Goddaughters) and threw the rest away. I'm also selling my wedding and other jewellery too. It's cleansing and gives you a huge sense of satisfaction to do it. Keep going girl, am with you all the way. xxx |
