Happy New year to you all.
I forgot to change my Tesco card address, and rung them up only to find that I had an old account with nearly £200 of vouchers. They arrived a week before Christmas so managed to buy some better presents for the boys and have some money for going out.
Had a good Christmas and new year with my boys, went flying, bowling and even ice skating ( haven't done that for a long time). Shame the snow melted on boxing day as we were looking forward to going sledging.
I did get some invites for dinners and even a new years eve party over the period that the boys were with me, but had to turn them down. That was hard, as I could have done with a evening of adult conversation.
On Thursday, had a phone call from one of my bosses to say that my name had been taken off the culling list. So hopefully have a job until the end of the year at least. Its nice to be able to plan/think a bit more ahead.
Absolute documents came in the post yesterday. Didn't get much work done and have a few very large glasses of red wine , suffering a bit this morning. I suppose thats the official end.
The only thing I've got to do in find the moviation to start a new life, which is hard being on a DMP and maintence for the next 10 years, there isn't much cash left over and what there is tends to go on the boys when they visit.
Tommorrow is the youngest brithday and I miss that. But next weekend my sister and neice are coming down so will have a brithday party then.
The suns shinning, so better get out and go for a walk and some fresh air.

| And a happy new year to you. I remember your first blogs. Your latest one has a totally different tone to it. You do sound a whole lot more positive, and that's brilliant news about your job. That must have been a huge relief. There's always a possibility that you have the motivation already simply by doing what you have to do. Your new life may begin to 'emerge' gradually. | ||

Well done Mike. Great news about your job too.I know you was worried about that big time at the start of your divorce. So you see your boys got a job,got your own place.Look forward to making yourself even more independent now.You have the security of the contract for this year look what you can develop so that if that does fall out of bed next year that you won't be affected badly. Seems like it's all working well no ex and her teenage daughter disrespecting you at every turn in your own home, that's the upside.Once you get used to the independence you wonder why you ever felt so bad about getting divorced in the end. All the best Pete |
