Following a long
review and after careful consideration we have taken the decision to close
the Wikivorce chat room.
Maintaining a safe and supportive
environment in a 24 x 7 chat room is a huge responsibility and as the site
has grown the operational difficulties have increased.
I greatly
regret that it is simply no longer possible for us to continue running an
open format chat room - as it presents too many issues and risks from an
operational and a legal perspective.
Any group of people who
wish to keep chatting are of course free to organise their own chat
facility outside of Wiki, it is very easy to do.
Also of course
there is Skype, FB, MSN etc.
New structured chat
program
In its place we plan to offer a more structured
program of chat events.
Proposed events (to be confirmed)
include: legal surgery, financial advice sessions, relationship coaching,
structured divorce support discussion and organised pub quizzes etc.
Events will run to a published schedule and be hosted by
appropriate experts (for advice workshops) and by volunteers (for pub
quizzes etc).
Further information on this program will be
provided over the coming weeks.
