Re:Books Thread...why not Music too?!

Nice idea

I've found it very hard to be focussed enough to cope with books (& I love reading), whereas we all enjoy music, even if it's only as wallpaper.

I'm the same at the moment Stu. I read the grand total of 52 books one year, but only 1 last year and I am part-way through one at the moment, but I just can't focus. I still keep buying the blooming things though!

I'm glad I'm not the only bookworm that's turned into a non reader! I cannot cope with emotion, so have gone from reading non-stop to reading none.

I have no patience with TV or films other than the news. Factual stuff. I zap the car radio or ff CD's when I can't engage with emotion.

I'm hoping it's temporary, although it's almost two years now.

Music is my only relaxation and it would be good to share.

Stuka, you and I must be keeping the magazine industry buoyant! You can get online versions of many and it's just enough to dip into till the attention span wains.

I've been thinking of maybe starting to re-read the classics. Stuff I've not read since school!

Music? Classical without the opera seems to work best for me at the moment. I've never liked great big voices and musicals aren't my taste either. I have a wide range of CD's but I play one or two tracks and zap them. I have the attention span of a demented fly. I hope it gets better in time!

LOL! I am a collector and only the other day found a pile of books in the bottom of a wardrobe that I didn't recall buying. I have them everywhere...!! I'd like to say a bigger house appeals, but unless I can afford an assistant to help with maintaining the darned thing...then no thanks...although I have enough books to stand on now I have to navigate high cupboards all on my own these days!

My music tastes vary depending on mood but I've notice I've not enjoyed as much or as often as I used to...I've gone the other way as someone that vary rarely watched TV to now having a DVD p­layer­ in my bedroom and so I put a film on most nights to fall asleep to!

However, I am partial to a funky choon or two...when the mood takes me! Especially when doing housework, it's the law...

P.S. I used to buy magazines but just don't any more as it's depressing looking at all the ads for lovely things.
