I was one of the peeps in chat last night and was shocked when I found this out
I googled my username and it came up with a couple of posts I had made...one of them would make it pretty obvious it was me if STBX saw it. Not a problem now as he would never guess this name and doubt very much he would ever look at this site.
However, when I first joined, I used the same name I use on every other site and STBX knows that name. If I hadn't changed it pretty quickly and he was bored/nosey enough to google my old username he could have easily found the posts I've written on here.
I know we should all read terms and conditions etc before joining a site, but I for one was in no fit state to care about that when I first joined

Are private messages safe from Google search?

Yes - private messages are safe, they can only be seen by the sender and receiver.

Google can only see what a regular unregistered guest visiting the site can see.

Guests to the site cannot see members profiles.

Thank you for the helpful clarification. I'm sure people will be reassured by the responses.

Making members aware that they should exercise caution if they have any misgivings about just how much personal information they post, won't affect people being able to find Wikivorce through a Google search.

That's how I found it and it's saved my sanity on more than one occasion starting with my first frantic postings a year ago.

It does a great job of providing a unique online advice and 'counselling' resource, i.e. the counsel of others experiencing the same pain reaching out to support one another along the way.

Long may it continue to develop and grow.

Nothing in there I wouldn't say to it's face

The point is we (me and stbx)are NOT communicating normally and I know stbx stalks me, so I had to make a decision recently of what I would do if he saw my blogs and comments.
WTF, my blogs are that, MINE, they are a catalogue of MY feelings along with facts. Stbx has NO right to dictate what I feel and that is how it is.
I also don't go around bad mouthing him either, just don't want to be married to him. Everytime he makes my life more difficult he makes his own just as difficult and he won't EVER get me back.
So peeps, don't be scaremongered, just careful and not slanderous.
