HELP First Appointment!!!!!

Hi All,

I have now colated all of my information and I am ready for my first appointment.....sort of....

I found a download on here for the STATEMENT OF ISSUES but I can not find for love or money an example of:

Chronology
Questionarire
Form G

I'm sure its me not knowing my way around the site.

Any help and tips would be appreciated

I will put everything together tomorrow, i dont need to take it to court for another week but I just want it all done.

Is there a similar thing for the first hearing? and no, hes not going to be sensble, this is going to trial which is why I self rep, I dont have the money to give the solicitors, besides I think I have a better chance at this on my own.

The first hearing will be for the judge to make orders. Have you done Form E's, do you have answers to questions asked?

The Judge may order valuations of property and assets, CETV's of pensions etc and then give further orders required before FDR.

Mine was quick and quite informal so do not worry if you are self repping because even those represented often go to the first appointment without representation.

No questions asked yet, we've only just exchanged form Es. So I shall be doing all that lot this weekend, picking apart his Form E etc etc etc.

Is there anywhere on the site for the kinds of questions asked? I have a fairly good idea of what I will ask, mainly, that his money, including my child support comes out of his company account (Inland Revenue would love that as an expense!) and therefore in order to get a full view of the picture I need company statements.

Please point me in the right direction oh wise ones!!!!!!!

The judge will ask you if you have questions arising Form E and if he doesn't you need to pipe up!!

It will be ordered that you must submit a questionnaire on his finances by a certain date and he must reply by a certain date (or his sols), you can ask the questions but he does not have to answer. The questionnaire format is here on wiki and you must follow it to the letter as well as the usual court headings. It must be dated and signed.

If he fails to answer questions and they are relevant to the case (be careful here and don't get bogged down with minutae) then you will be able to direct the judge at the next hearing.

You are well within your rights to ask for company reports, tax returns etc as well as personal accounts and company accounts for the last 12 months and projected income etc. Also all personal accounts, credit card statements, (usually interesting reading!), valuation of properties, cars and anything else over £500.

If he is a ltd company you can get some detail from the companys house website. (there is a small fee)

The first appointment will be to order this info and anything else the judge requires for a next hearing which will be ordered next week.

Try and read up as much as you can on this site as you will then feel more knowledgable.

The which divorce guide (Imogen Clout) is useful but the info on this site is invaluable.

When you say about the Questionnaire format "follow it to the letter" do you also mean the repetitive "As to" at the beginning of each section? I ask because it seems cumbersome to me when reading it - why not just start with the Form E section number and omit the words "As to" or this required by a Practice Direction?
