Re:Who mediates?!

My solicitor has suggested mediation to try to keep costs down. I'm all for that! However, I'm totally intimidated by my husband. He's much cleverer than I am, a whizz at maths and money etc. When we were married, he managed all the money and made all the decisions. I'm really scared that he will state his case in such a fashion that I will just be left dangling. Does the solicitor mediate for me? Or do I have to get someone seperate to do it? Its a family law firm.
Also, I'm terrified of not being able to keep a roof over my kids heads. Have three still living with me - 17,19,21. Two are students. the oldest can't afford to move out. I only work part time. But it's a job I really love. I'd hate to leave it. Will this count against me?

Regards your employment situation will be viewed, given your childrens ages, give consideration to being asked about possibility of increasing your hours/income, wtc, your qualifications and skills, your health etc from your other posts you do not appear confident at all about your situation....use the tools/resources/experience/knowledge here to identify possible options and make informed decisions...if you are struggling feel free to pm me...I may not have the answer but I can try to direct you to who/where...keep posting, keep reading and good luck.

Hi, my only advice is that STBX is going into your past now and you need to move on without fear of his intimidation.
You must slowly take control of your (and kids) life and if that means learning something that you haven't done before, then you must ask someone for help.
Obviously this site has a wealth of experienced and qualified people to utilise, then there's your kids, other family members and friends. You can also find many shoulders here from wikipeeps and add them to your list of buddies on your profile.
Small steps are needed to finish climbing the mountain. Friday I decided to buy a laptop as STBX is a bit of a clever d**k when it comes to technology. Saturday I started to set it up and had to resort to a post here about wep keys. By Sunday I had loads of replies and yesterday I found the courage to discuss the computer set up at FMH and voila...he told me where to find the answer AND I didn't have to tell him that I had bought a laptop. Its mine ALL mine.
For my future when I move out, I am looking forward to plumbing in the washing machine, crazy who me? And I think I can remember how to change a light bulb!!LOL
