Female, mature, happily divorced?

Are you female, of mature years and (now) happily divorced after a long marriage? Fancy becoming a Wikivorce role model and appearing in an upmarket glossy woman's magazine?

This latest media request from a freelancer writing for a magazine we have worked with before, could be for you: If it is, PM me, Hadenoughnow and I’ll put you in touch (Am sadly too young).

The piece is about the trend to do everything later on in life, so I
need to find a lady, preferably now in her 60s, who got divorced in
her late 50s or early 60s after her kids had grown up and left home.
She must not be bitter, or have made a packet from the divorce, but
should be back on her feet and enjoying single life.

I need someone photogenic and articulate who is willing to chat about
why her marriage ended when it did, and what happened next. This will
be a positive, upbeat piece, nothing nasty or difficult. The lady
would need to have a chat on the phone with me and do a photo shoot,
which will probably be in London.

1. Upmarket Glossy Magazine we have worked with before - are looking for a woman between 30 and 50 who married and divorced the same man twice and would be willing to tell their story and pass on advice to other women who are thinking of doing the same thing

2. Upmarket Sunday Newspaper magazine wants couples who have divorced and remarried to talk to them.

3. Freelance writing for Glossy monthly Mag is looking for women who divorced their husbands in order to achieve an ambition/dream? Maybe it was a career, travel or something very minor.

May I ask why the Wikivorce role model has to be female?

Because its for a magazine article and they have asked for a woman.

Have edited it to make clear it is a Woman's magazine ... but if we have lots of chaps who want to volunteer, I'd be happy to approach other (reputable!) publications

May I ask what possible significance being photogenic has when discussing creating a new life for yourself after having your life devastated by divorce?

I'm not yet divorced and anyway, I'm feeling somewhat bitter about my stbx wrecking my life and I'm not at all photogenic! Sorry!

Which is why their asking for a lady that is now divorced.

You feel better once you get closure and your life moves on weather that's in 6 months or 5 years time .

Back to my original question...what on earth has being photogenic got to do with anything? It's patronising to the thousands of plain, non-photogenic women who've simply got on with it, picked themselves up and made a new life for themselves. It panders to the celebrity mentality that being good-looking makes anything you say more significant.

Any self-respecting womens' magazine would look beyond that and anyway they could pay for a hairdo and a professional make-up.
