Hi everyone.
I recently sent my solicitor the completed fee
remission form for legal aid and completed divorce
petition. (she said I was under the threshold to
receive it).
Today I received a letter from her saying that the
court may not issue the Divorce Petition depending upon whether they
consider the information they have regarding my proof of income to be
sufficient. They may raise issues regarding it before issuing the
petition.
What issues might there me?
In the pack I
sent...
- 3 months bank statements for my personal
account
- 3 months statements for savings account (I have
£2,000 left in that - I take a little out each month to make up the
shortfall in my income to pay the bills)
- Documents from HMRC
etc re. Child Benefit and Child/Working Tax Credit amounts received
- Statement for newly opened business bank account (recently became
self employed.)
- Copy of the only 2 invoices issued (and paid
into said business account) for new business (totalling just over £400 over
2 months)
Is there something i'm missing? What
else might they require? I don't have any accounts as I have only just
become self employed.
How long might it take the courts to
decide?
Hope someone might be able to shed some light on this!
Beside myself already! Urggg its going to be a long long road isn't
it...
