Feeling a bit stressed today....

Have been informed by SOL that legal aid for now has stopped, I had to re-apply in DEC as came off income, it got granted. But they want another form???
Since then I have been able to secure enough work to get WTC... SOL said I will have to let legal commision know and I will probably have to re-apply again!
Meanwhile, SOL is trying to prepare statement 25 to be filed by end of Januuary, but is unable to effect any work on my behalf until legal aid re-granted (if at all) Has said that I may have to prepare myself. Yikes!!!!!
In amongst that, formulating a quick response to STBX re: yesterday's blog and forum post - simply quoting the CSA.

Just finding it is never ending. On top of working and ensuring have all their needs met, forms filled in, being where they are supposed to be etc.

If my legal aid doesn't get re=approved then I have a final hearing coming up and the thought of self repping is extremely daunting. It is a complicated case.

So I have bothered to go and seek more work etc etc to support the family and yet this may backfire on me by losing my legal aid.
Meanwhile stbx has got completely the other way to earning appx 4,000 per week to nil!!!

GRRRRRRRR. Somehow life doesn't seem right!

Well I will update myself with ltest news.
I have to prepare statement 25 myself which is a bit daunting, but do-able as it is only gathering of information that I have had to do so many times... bank statements, housing needs,income,contributions to marriage,health etc etc.

But I have now been told that the legal aid has defianately stopped at moment.
I am so anxious with a complicated 2 day Final hearing approcahing. SOL has advised me of cost to fund this... where am I going to get that sort of money? I can't prepare bundles myself, wouldn't know where to start and don't have the time etc, working looking after children. And the thought of questioning that lying stbx of mine, well it just doen't bear thinking about.

I don't know what to do????
I know I can't be the only one in this situation. Help??? Please???

HELP PLEASE WIKIS?????????????????

Wikis please help me. I am in a bit of a state this afternoon. Have some more harrassing emails from stbx which I have posted about on another post this has been going on for about a fortnight now.

I am in the middle of peparing for a staement 25 myslef because my legal aid frozen.
Just had confirmation that my legal aid had now been rejected (due to the fact that I came off income support in Nov, for getting a job (with low wages I hasten to add)

Now I will not be getting legal iad what am I going to do????????

I have been in floods of tears. I have a 2 day final hearing coming up.
I don't know anyone I can borrow the money from. It would be stupid of me to put 10,000 plus on a credit card.... got no way of paying it back.

HELP PLEASE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO

This is a complicated final hearing with not just abhouse involved. stbx is self empl and lots of assetts.

Has anyone prepared their own bundles???? what do you have to do??? I don't know where to start!
Is is worth borrowing a smaller amount to ask SOL to prepapre for final and then represent myself?
I don't know if I could question stbx though , he is such a liar and his barrister would baffle me with figures and legal jargon....


Does anyone know if you can have a friend with you at the final to do the talking?????

I wish i could start with one of those dramatic slap across the cheek you see in old black and white movies and follow it up with *calm down woman*.

First yes you can take a friend for support, call the court and tell them you would like a "McKenzie friend" to be with you.

Second, if you ex has a solicitor or barrister they will compile the bundle not you.

Make sure court know you are now acting alone without a solicitor, this is important.

If this is not complicated there is no reason why you can`t do this alone many do these days.

If you don`t understand what is said to you, just say you don`t and they will re-word it, or the judge will explain it to you.

That`s a start, call the court first, have a cup of tea, or a bucket of wine what ever works for you.

Just trying to deal with a bully of an ex too, who is contantly sending demands and orders re: children at the moment too, and I'm finding it all a bit much.

What does a mckenzie friend do? are they legally trained.

The case is complicated unfortunately I will pm you the details.

If his sol prepares the bundles (what exactly are bundles anyway?) How will his solicitor know what to prepare on my behalf? Who does the questioning in court of my stbx, me of the mckenzie friend?

Can I have a friend in the courtroom too to give advise?

My sol assistant has said that I also need to prepare bundles? is this the case?

A family member thinks I would be wise to get a loan in excess of 10,000, but bearing in mind that I already near that, I have no way of paying it back and no guarantee of what the final settlement may be. So I could be borrowing for a rather long time. What do you other Wiki's think?
Family member thinks I may get too emotional at hearing when I question stbx and he lies. Which he 100% will without a doubt

Those of you who have self repped in finance I would love to hear of your experience and outcome please....

do the bundles have to be submitted 21 days prior to hearing if that is the case that doesn't leave me long.

Do I need to ask my SOL for all the documentation back?

What about myself preparing the bundles and just hiring a barrister as a one off for the court day?

Case is complicated in the assetts that are involved and lots of anomolies.

ANY RESPONSE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
