Hello 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
|
|
Hello, have been reading posts and articles on this site for some time and
have finally plucked up the courage to register and introduce myself. My husband of 18 years left me in July 2011, he moved into his own house
with a female 'lodger' and since then I have been existing rather than
living. I have felt less alone whilst reading other posts from those
of you in similar situations and I hope I can survive this in order to feel
like a real person again and not just a shell and a failure.

Hi Spells & welcome to wiki. Not nice to have to register on a site like
this because it makes it real, but the best thing I did that's for sure.
I'm further down the road of seperation - 3 years - but I still
visit the site regularly & it still provides me with comfort & reassurance
when I feel like life is passing me by or get moments of sadness & fear.
It's tough going through this because it takes all of your strength
just to make it through the days one at a time & then deal with the
practical stuff. It will feel strange for a while - especially after such
a long marriage - but things do improve & joining this site is a step in
the right direction.
You will survive & please don't think or
yourself as a failure because you aren't. My ex left me for someone else &
for ages I thought "what does she have that I don't?" but you will get to
the stage where all these feelings of inadequecy fade & you emerge a
stronger person. Not easy, but so rewarding & empowering. Now I wouldn't
have him back in a million years!
Keep posting - you're amongst
friends here.
Dazed. x

Hello spells and welcome.
If you've been finding comfort from
reading about others on the site, you'll now have some messages specially
for you which will lift your spirits and make you believe you can get
through this.
You will know that you can ask specific questions
in the Forum so that you have a clearer picture of procedures and your
rights and entitlements.
Do venture into Chat if you want
company - just say that you're new and people will make you feel welcome.
Best wishes
Mitchum

Welcome spells.
Glad you have found your way to this site.
Although the situation we all find ourselve in is not good, this is a
brilliant place to be.
You only need your keyboard to chat, and
9 times out of ten, you will get a "hello" before you've typed "I'm
new".
Blogging is also good to get things off your chest. And
again, you will get support there too!
Mine H of 21 years has a
room at another house 2 to 4 nights aweek - I can laugh about it sometimes!
He been seeing her since August 2011. So not too far behind you.
Hope to talk to you soon Carly
