I am with you on this one, and going shoping for oneself is not pleasant,
but you did the right thing, buy stuff YOU want. I personally found it
liberating getting things for ME. Not having to think about what to get my
husband. Nice little treats for me, and no need to hide the cheeky little
chocolate either.
I found it so daunting to start off when I
moved out. I had never dealt with insurance, phone/broadband,...my husband
always dealt with these things. It felt wonderful just going out there,
sorting everything out - all by myself. Turns out, I can do it!!!
My biggest treat was to go and pick out a new sofa,...not having to
squabble over look, material, cushions etc. I found my perfect sofa, and I
didnt have to discuss it with anyone, it was what I wanted,...It was
fantastic.
Things do get easier over time, but there will be
good days and there will be bad days, and when the bad days arrive - its
always good to think of all the independent things and progress one has
made, and that cheeky little chocolate does come in handy :o)
Just keep strong and trust me - it will get better,...in time :o)
