I never used to cook properly as my ex was a good cook and made fun of me
wanting to try. All I used to do was heat prepared food like pizzas and
ready meals.
After she moved out I bought a few cook
books and have done some very successful
dishes....had a couple of disasters on the way too! LOL
I found
the Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food book the most useful. The Minced Beef
Wellington recipe is brilliant! I have also learnt to experiment and not
be afraid to try things out.
I also found it good to involve the
kids if possible. One evening my son volunteered out of the blue to cook a
pasta sauce from scratch, he did a great job....and gave us a good laugh by
licking his finger after chopping a chilli and having to drink 2 pints of
water!
Good luck!
