Re:Race For Life

As some of you know, the lovely Kimmi is doing Race For Life - she has inspired me to also sign up (and a lot of nagging from my 11yo daughter, who is also doing the race).

While Kimmi is a graceful gazelle, I am more of a wobbling water-buffalo As some of you know, I have suffered from M.E. for many years, so this race will be extra-challenging for me.

So I'm here to ask, beg, plead, offer ironing services, bribes of home-baked cakes, etc for you to sponsor me and such a worthy cause.

Well, my daughter and I completed Race for Life on Saturday. We walked the 5k, and finished with a reasonably respectable time of 54 minutes. (Not bad, considering Im old, fat and recovering from a bad spell with M.E. )

We dressed for the occasion in fairy wings and bright pink tutus (looking in the mirror was like look at one of the ballet-dancing elephants from Fantasia....)

We raised a staggering £205 - all your sponsorship will go to Cancer Research Campaign, who continue their excellent work and will make such a difference to those touched by cancer in the UK - thank you so much for your incredible generosity

Kimmi is doing her Race for Life soon - and I would like to wish her all the best for the day.
