Hi, can someone help me please?

i would like to divorce my wife, the only way, as i see it, would be through the Unreasonable Behaviour route. But would i be able to use the following:

1 - i'm in a stressful job and when i get home from work i can't unwind and relax due to her eldest daughter, we basically hate each other and are screaming and shouting at each other.

2 - she never initiates sex, i always have to make the first move and if i dont make the first move we dont have sex.

3 - she is a control freak, i am not allowed to contact friends wether by email or phone.

4 - the relationship is making me depressed

5 - i am no longer attracted to her.

6 - i have now moved out of the marital home.

1. Not relevant. It is meant to be unreasonable behaviour of your spouse not other people.

2. Yep.

4. Yep, you should add this onto the end of 3.

5. Yep. You should describe this as no longer having any love or affection for the respondent.

6. Yep. You have found it intolerable to continue residing with the respondent and have now separated.

1 - No, this is not unreasonable behaviour by your wife. You could instead say that when you get home from your stressful job, your wife does not offer you support or relaxation.

2 - It's a bit weak but could probably be used if you rephrased it. Lack of intimacy is a common reason.

3 - Yes absolutely fine.

4 - No, you would have to say that is is your wife's behaviour that is making you depressed, not "the relationship". Give an example of what she does that makes you depressed or unhappy.

5 - No, this is not her unreasonable behaviour. But you could use it if you rephrased it.

6 - Maybe if it's phrased carefully but be careful that you don't make it look like a separation petition. You moving out is not an example of her unreasonable behaviour, though. You should mention her behaviour that caused you to move out.

Lets have a look at the reasons of UB you have posted;

1 - It needs to be your wife's unreasonable behaviour, not that of your step-daughter, which you use. I would avoid using any reason that includes children.

2 - Perhaps she doesn't want to have sex?

3 - I would refrain from using the term "control freak". Instead I would say that she has isolated you from your friends and family.

4 - You could say instead, that due to the breakdown of the relationship, you are now suffering from depression (has this been diagnosed by your GP?) and you feel she isn't understanding of your illness and offers no support.

5 - You not finding her attractive isn't an example of her unreasonable behaviour.

6 - You would need to say that you felt you could no longer remain living in the same house due to her unreasonable behaviour.
