Re:Clean Break - Consent Order

Hello all

I'm a few weeks away from my Decree Absolute and am just getting the financial settlement sorted.

I've done all the divorce activities on my own so far (no solicitor). My ex has a solicitor.

We both want a 'clean break' settlement that is rock solid. We've agreed on a final lump sum.

I wrote a letter to her solicitor and sent a copy to the court, detailing our agreement. Her solicitor has come back and said I need to complete a 'Consent Order'. Would I be right in thinking I need to complete form 'D81'. I found a copy of this at: "http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/courtfinder/forms/d81_e1205.pdf".

Please can any of you confirm this is the right form and am I ok completing this and submitting to her solicitor.

Do I need to provide all the information as we have already the settlement amount. ie. do I need to confirm my salary and pension details?

Also, are there any other forms I need to complete?

The consent order should be drafted by a lawyer, it is a very important document and needs to be written in legal terms with all the relevant clauses, this site provides a service for £99 at the moment (look below "legal access") along with the consent order you both complete form D81, they both go to court for a judge to read and all being well its stamped (sealed) by the judge.
