If she has 6k in a current account and 1/2k ISA why is she borrowing money?, this is getting stranger and stranger.

she is not telling the truth. I know my ex. she advised the solicitors to put this on the letter so i get the impression that she hasnt got anymore money. My wife has been all the way fearful of having our case ending up in court, as she is worried that she will have to share everything. she said that herself once. she said once that if i try to have half of the house, she will want half of my parents house??!!..

With such limited assets you still need to stay away from court, even if she has as you suspect 8k that will soon go to pay for solicitors.

Do you think after all, that it is safe asking for £7000 instead of £6000 as my final proposal?.
I would suspect that she has also been advised the same thing of staying away from court and might rather pay the extra £1000, since she is already offering £6000?
I just can't see her being pushed by this to apply for a financial order, when it is only a small increase i am asking for. How can they justify to the judge, that they took this to court, spending the same amount on solicitors, rather than giving it to me?.

Given the numbers keep changing its impossible to say, you think she has close on 8k cash, she says she can borrow 6k inferring she has no cash, the solicitor says they are instructed to take the matter to court if you do not agree 6k, if they do the cash is gone and the best you can hope for is a charge on the property.

Given this is a shortish marriage with no children and the deposit coming from your wife and the deed of trust you could end up walking away with nothing, judges like clean breaks, there comes a point where the straw breaks the camels back, will that be asking for 7k? who knows, i don`t have a crystal ball, if i were you i would cut and run, if you end up in court they will be looking at needs, your need is for a one bedroom flat, so a bond deposit and some second hand stuff, the real problem is that by this point she would have no cash to give, a judge can`t give what does not exist.

Now if i agree to their offer, what about the contents?
to be honest, most of it is hers. the letter they sent with £6000 offer, states that she wants me to take only my personal belongings. Do i have the right to take any that i require in my new home?. please advise
