From your answer I've assumed that any posts that I make Wikivorce will own the copyright to them.

If this assumption is wrong, then please don't hesitate to correct me.

Perhaps you could clarify why you want to know and what, if anything, you may want to do with any wikivorce content. I am sure the team would be happy to assist given the constraints ruth has outlined above.

My reading of this is that Wikivorce owns the copyright.

As there have been different interpretations of the Wikivorce Ts and Cs I thought that I should clarify the position.

The intellectual property ownership is as defined in the terms and conditions (section 7.1 to 7.4) that have been posted on this thread already.

Section 7.3 deals with content submitted by users.

In non-legal speak it means the following:

Users who submit blogs or forum posts on Wikivorce retain the copyright for their submissions and are free to republish their own posts/blogs elsewhere without asking Wikivorce.

Having registered and accepted the terms and conditions - a user who submits a post/blog to the website grants Wikivorce a licence to publish it.

I'm not a moderator or at all associated in the running of this site, but I would throw my 2p in:

Err I don't think that Wiki owns the copyright of jjones123's posts. 7.1 states that Wiki has copyrights of its content but I am at a loss as to understand how it acquires it from contributors.

I could be wrong but I think the terms and conditions mean that any posts made by jjones123 on Wikivorce come with the licence as described in 7.3. It is a license, there is no transfer of copyright mentioned.

It would be nice for folks to remember that by creating the forum Wikivorce is not just encouraging positive and useful posts but also leaving itself open to legal action should posts be libelous not to mention accusations of abuse through not restricting free speech.

It is a tightrope that Wiki walks along and I am sure that no matter how thick-skinned they have become it can still get quite stressful for all the volunteers concerned. Whether it's a licence or copyright is a fine distinction and only jjones123 would know if it is of relevance and presume that some private clarification has taken place.

The reason for the original question is to make sure that I continue to own the copyright of my own words, and can do with the whatever I choose to do so.

I should add that I'm not intending on doing anything with them, but I just wanted to make sure that I could, should I wish to.
