Re:Help with likely settlement please

I am new to this forum and just considering my options. I have used the divorce calculator but haven't got on with it as we are not yet in two separate households. I wondered if someone would be able to tell me what likely settlement I would receive on the basis of this information:

Married 18.5 years. 2 children, both under 16.
House worth about £250k with o/s mortgage of £55k.
£44k in an offset account linked to the mortgage.
£10k other savings.
He works full time, salary about £50k.
I work 19 hours per week, term time only, salary about £6.5k, although I will try to increase my hours now.
We both have pension pots although his is far larger than mine.

I am really struggling with the Maths on all this. Can anyone estimate how much of our assets I will get? The children will live with me. I also have no clue what maintenance to expect.

I make that the assets (not including pensions) are approx £240k.

Would this provide enough to allow you to purchase a suitable home for you and the children?

I think your options are you receive the bulk of the 'cash' assets and leave his pension alone.

Or

you receive slightly less of the 'cash' assets and request spousal maintenance to level out your incomes.

He will have to pay 20% of his net income (less a discount of 1/7 per night the children stay with him) in child maintenance regardless of the asset split.

I would prefer to receive the bulk of the assets rather than spousal maintenance (is this different to maintenance for the children?) as I think his future earnings are uncertain (although he would disagree with that )

What proportion of the assets could I expect to receive do you think?

How old are the children

Are you all in good health

When do you and him expect to retire

What are the CETV`s for the pensions

Spousal maintenance is money payed usually monthly for the spouse with the lower income and future earning potential,

We are both 43 and in good health.

The children are 13 and 11.

No expectations on retirement age - 65?

Not sure about pension values - about £45k for his and about £15k for mine?

Given the huge difference in earnings and assuming the kids will live with you most of the time you are likely to get the bulk of the equity in order to rehouse.

He has a decent mortgage capacity and you almost none. Also men tend to recover financially much quicker than women.
