Partner going through Divorce proceedings

Hi, my partner is just starting to go through the divorce process. He was married for 3 years to someone who already had two children. They were together a total of 12 years before the marriage ended. The step children are 16 and 14. My partner was the sole provider for the family as his ex wife has never worked. They both live in rented accomodation and my partner has taken on 4 credit card debts totalling over £20k. He also has an overdraft of £1500 on their previous joint account. He does have a daughter of his own who he pays maintenance to.

Our main concerns are:
1. His ex wife is asking for maintenance for her two children. Their natural father has never paid any maintenance, as the ex-wife has never asked him to. The natural father has attempted to make contact with the children although they didn't want to see him. Will my partner have to pay anything towards her children? He has been paying £200 per month for the three months prior to xmas to help out with her buying xmas presents, but he really couldn't afford to do this and is now going to reduce the payment to £100 per month which will be pocket money for the step children.
2. Will my partner's ex-wife have any claim on his pension (valued at £15k and currently on hold as he cannot afford to pay anything into it)
3. Will my earnings be taken into account at all?

She cannot claim through the CSA for the step children, although she can claim for them from their own father. However, the children are 'children of the family' so their needs will be relevent in considering the over all needs of the family and looking at a final finacial settlement. His wife may be entitled to some maintenace for herself, depending on the over all picture.

Hs pension is a matrimonial asset so goes into the 'pot' like any other asset. Whether she hs a share of it will depend on whether that is fair in all the cirumstances, taking into account the financial picture generally

3. Will my earnings be taken into account at all?

Your earnings are relevent in that the fact your partner is living with you affects his finacial needs (if he is sharing a home with you, he can be assumed to be paying 1/2 outgoigns rather than paying the full amount as he would if he were single, for instance)
However, his wife has no claim agaisnt your assets
