Hi, I need abit of advice please. I sent a divorce
petition over a month ago to my ex wife to be. I know
she has received it and doesn't want to go ahead with it. She wants us to
go ahead with her petition and withdraw mine. My first question is does she
have to reply to the court on whether to defend or accept the divorce in a
particular time period? If that's the case why havnt I heard anything from
the court? It's been over a month.
Secondly she keeps saying
she has sent her petition to the court too. But I have not received
anything from the court. Does the court send her petition to my solicitor
who then passes it to me or does it come straight to me?
My
solicitor sent a letter to her solicitor stating that we are willing to
withdraw our petition if she agrees that we only pay our own legal fees
and since we were only married for a year we do not claim
ancillary relief. She replied back saying aparantly
it's illegal to bargain like this. Is that true?
I would like
your advice plsss. I feel so stressed.
Thanks.
