Welcome to Wikivorce. That must be a bit of a
worry for you.
Three sets of rules:
1. Divorce by
reason of
adultery or unreasonable behaviour can be petitioned at
any time, but you would be served with a copy of the
petition.
2. Divorce by reason of mutual
consent after 2 years
separation. Consent means
you have to know about it
3. Divorce without consent after 5
years separation. You might not be aware of this.
You could
check with your local court (or his local court) to see if a petitition has
been submitted, but in case 1 or 2, they would write to you with a copy of
the petition.
