Hello Shiner,
It is always best to try and take the divorce and
finances one small step at a time as if you try and do everything together
it will be overwhelming. Start with the divorce
petition if you have not already done this part. You
have two options. You can either rely on 2 years
separation with your ex's
consent or his unreasonable behaviour. If you need help with your petition
or acknowledgement or forms to apply for decree
nisi there is always someone here who can point you in
the right direction. Once you are in receipt of your decree nisi then turn
your attention to the finances by filing a
Form A with the
Court. They will send you standard
directions and again once you are in receipt of those
there will certainly be someone here who can help you. I know you say that
you cannot afford a solicitor and are not eligible for legal aid but some
solicitors will be willing to receive their
costs at the conclusion of the divorce once you have received your
settlement as long as you can pay for disbursements if that would assist
you.
