Re:got a hearing without notification, help please

Hi i am going through divorce but has now come to a halt. i am not legally represented and will self rep as my solicitor company has folded. I sent the petitioners sols a letter and have not had any response on this since 31/10/11.
I spoke to the medway court they told me there was a hearing was booked for the 20th Feb for an ancillary relief, they also told me decree nisi has not been issued. Please can you tell me if an ancillary relief hearing can go ahead without first obtaining a decree nisi.

Could i call them to have the hearing adjourned for a months time where i will need to ascertain my files and gather & update information that will need updating.

There can be an ancillary relief hearing before the nisi but apart from maintenance pending suit no effective financial orders can be be made until the nisi has been granted. You would need to supply information and apply to court for permission to adjourn.
