How/When do I get court fees repayed?

The divorce came through last week.
We didn't use solicitors and I originally paid the £300 court fees.
I had asked the court - and it had been agreed - that she pays the fees. What happens now? Will the court have asked the ex to repay within a certain time?

I want absolute minimum contact with her.

If the court made an order for costs it will be when the Decree Nisi was issued. he order normally specifes that the sum is to be paid on Decree Absolute or within 14 days of the order.

Whilst the court makes the costs order, it simply send a copy to all parties. If the costs remain unpaid you will have to enforce the order which is a separate application. The court will not chase the costs for you.

Looking at the court letter from 18th January - it states that the Judge...'upon making the decree nisi ordered that the Respondent pay the costs incurred on behalf of the Petitioner in this cause on a litigant in person basis only.' Have I missed something here - what exactly is 'litigant in person basis'?

litigant in person (abr. LIP) means you were acting in person i.e. without a solicitor.

No, the court will not contact you again about the costs. The costs that you can claim are limited to the fees that you have paid out e.g.

£300 petition fee
£40 Decree Absolute fee

optional
£7.50 (or thereabouts) marriage certificate fee
£100.00 bailiff fee (or any amount paid to a process server)
£5.00 oath fee

Any of the above that you have paid in relation to the divorce you can claim back from the Respondent. You will have to tell the Respondent what is it that you seek though as they he eill not have a crystal ball!
