I hear what you're saying, but you don't divorce on
adultery. The divorce is always granted "no fault".
Adultery is the reason you can use to
petition for divorce. It has no bearing on the
finances.
If you name another person, they have to be sent
papers and respond etc. If they choose not to, or contest it, the actual
divorce can take a lot longer and cost more (and there's no guarantee
you'll get costs).
Better to do whatever to get the divorce and
use your energy and other resources sorting out a decent financial
settlement.
