Considerations around to who would be suitable and whether it is
reasonable to agre tothe new names would include, in my view:
-
is the propsed supervisor someone who the childrne already know? It's fine
to introduce some new people, but havign a different stranger every time
would potentially be quite disruptive. Adding someone who is already a
family friend or amember of the extended family is less of an issue from
this point of view.
- is the propeosed supervisor aware of the
reasons why supervision is necessary? Are they able to protect the children
if necessary? (e.g. if the person suggested is your ex's mum, does she
understand the risks or is she convinced that it's all a mistake and that
there isn't any need for supervision?)
- what is the reason for
adding extra names? Are they being proposed to replace the existing
supervisor? Are they being added bacause they want to see the children
themselves? Are the exisiting supervisors not able to carry or, or are they
wanting to reduce their invovlment?
- Are Social Serviec
involved with your family? Waht is their view
