I tried to sort out the finance and childcare through
mediation, it didn't work
.
My
ex wife cannot afford to take the mortgage on all by herself but she wants
to stay in the family home. We have large debts together which were run up
partly for renovating the house. I cannot afford my own outgoings let alone
hers. I pay CSA for my son.
When I first met my solicitor she
said my ex wife would have to sell the house and we would pay off the debts
that way. I decided to go to court to do this. We are coming up to the FDR
and now after 4k worth of legal fees my solicitor is now saying it is
unreasonable to ask my ex to move as it is the home to three kids (two are
not mine and they lived there before I met her - though the house was a
three bed and is now a six bed due do extension built during time with me)
and as my ex can't pay the loans off then I should. I have no money, in
fact further in debt due to large solicitor bills.
She has also asked
how I propose my ex wife and the children be re-housed. Is this not my ex's
job to work that out and possibly the other fathers of her children?
I am confused, is my solicitor not meant to work out a way to look
after my interests? I feel that after all this expense she is now saying it
is a waste of time. Why not say this at the beginning? She has more or less
the same info now as back then.
