Re:Statement of Arrangements

Hi everyone

I am new to this forum so I apologise in advance if I'm not posting in the correct forum.

A quick background: I have been separated from my ex husband for 4 years and we have one child who is 6. I, the mother, have full custody. My ex resides in another city and sees her twice a month. I have issued a divorce which he has received, but he is not happy with the statement of arrangements.
I have merely stated the present situation and arrangements. He is reluctant to sign it and is "changing" it as he doesn't want his rights affected.

If he refuses to sign a statement of arrangements which states the truth of the situation at present, what can I do?
I'm not really willing to sign a new statement which he has written, which states that at some point in the future he will move back to our current city and that he wants me to stay here in this city. That I am not allowed to ever move...
He has no permanent residence or employment at present. Until these things are resolved Im not discussing any change in arrangements.

Can someone just give me some advice what I should do! I dont want to get into a battle of egos with him. I just want a divorce!

You both need to understand that this is not a binding arrangement it is merely exists to give the judge an idea of what arrangements exist right now, this allows the judge to progress the divorce, nothing more.

If he refuses to sign ultimately the judge will go with the arrangement provided by the parent with care which is you.The reason for this is not to demean a mother or more usually the farther it is to prevent it from being used as a delaying tactic.
