Re:Tell Kids: Divorce final after long separation?

My friend and his ex separated almost three years ago. Their daughter was 2 and a half at the time.

They have shared custody and have worked very well together to remain positive and friendly in their exchanges with the child.

She seems to have adjusted well to mommy and daddy living apart. She doesn't ask questions or seem to have any difficulty with her situation.

Their divorce will be final in the next few weeks/month. The daughter is now 5 and a half.

Any advice for if and how they should tell her the divorces is final? Should they even mention it? Should they just wait til she starts asking questions?

If nothing is going to change for her why even mention it?

She is obviously happy with the situation so why give it a new name?

I agree with WYS,
The little one has actually been living in a divorce situation with Mummy and Daddy living seperately. Only the adults understand the concept of the difference between living apart and actually having the document which states the marriage is ended.

It's great that they've managed the situation so well for her sake.
