You need to get the name of the highest ranking person on each police force who stated the jurisdiction falls to the other force and write to the Chief Constable asking them to investigate. If you get no joy get your MP to write to the ipcc on your behalf.

I would also suggest you go back to the court and apply for a variation giving the examples of harassment and the details of him not turning up and changing thr arrangements.

Is the meeting place mid-way for you both or does one of you have to shoulder an unreasonably large share of the burden?

I've spent the last year providing the court with statements, facts, dates etc. but the judge seems to have forgotten the details and the 15 pages of police reports. I have asked for the case to be reviewed and asked that all the evidence provided is reviewed reference my safety. The court order has just given my ex the green light to harass me.

I didn't get a solicitor due to costs, as I believe I have done nothing wrong, except ask for a fixed rota, instead of accepting my ex could pick and choose when he saw our son cos he missed endless opportunities to see him due to rugby, holidays, lost keys etc.etc.

I have just made an appointment to see a solicitor for advice, but why should me and my son go without if I have to pay for legal representation.

my ex moved back closer to his family and his other child, so there is now 65 miles between us. He claims it is too far for him to travel, which is why the judge said I had to travel 20 miles. 40 miles isn't alot, but due to stress caused by my ex I am unwell with very low blod pressure and trying to reduce the amount of driving I have to do because of te collapse I recently experienced (due to stress).

So sad that some dads/mums who have done nothing wrong get tarred with fabricated allegations and inflated welfare concerns and have to fight tooth and nail to see there children whereas here we seem to have a case here of a mother who actually has genuine safety concerns yet the father was awarded contact on a platter.
It gets harder and harder to have faith in such a flawed family courts system. Altho saying that I am sure that if common sense and geniune concern for what is best for children was actually the primary agenda for a number of PWC that deny contact then CAFCASS and the court system would probably have time to do their jobs properly.

UM, are you eligable for Legal Aid?

I agree there must be lots of parents with care who make things up and waste the courts' time, and I'm sure there are lots of parents who use the children as weapons due to personal grudges, my ex for one.

I work to support my son and pay his full time nursery costs but earn too much for legal aid, but not enough to be able to afford a couple of thousand for legal bills.

Hopefully the solicitor will give me some good advice and I can go to court myself, really don't want to appoint one to represent me in court - that thought is stressing me out more than the bloody court case.

We were in the same situation and got the school to facilitate friday to monday handovers so that we dont need to meet her, also got an anti molestation order in place, which is quite an easy thing to achieve.

Life, is much better now. In the 12 non term time weeks we do handover at the steps of a local police station.

Just reading this post and wondering, if your partner doesnt contribute in any maintenance, like mine, he doesnt pay anything, can I still ordered to travel for contact? we have 40 miles between us, Im on public transport and a full time student.
I haven't claim CSA thinking that it would benefit me with contact order.
FYI, I am a student paying 600 pound a month for childcare plus rent and bills but not entitle of legal aid. he earn above 20 grand and he has legal aid. very frustating

Hanna, the short answer is yes. Contact and child support are treated separately under different bits of legislation.
