Family Justice Review Final Report

The Norgrove panel have produced their final report. It offers no hope at all for the thousands of children sundered from their parents and ­base­s its conclusions on a single Australian study, dismissing without reference the numerous studies and ­meta­-analyses which show court-ordered shared parenting benefits children and reduces parental conflict. So much for Cameron's big society, or his pledge to be pro-family.

the Norgrove Report will also reject calls to enshrine in law the principle that children should have a ‘meaningful relationship’ with both their mother and father.


Instead, it will simply say the courts should keep the idea of a meaningful relationship with an absentee father in mind when they make decisions about a child’s future.



As around 95% of NRPs are fathers, yet again, the system serves to undermine fathers, and the relationship between father and child.

Public consultation has been completely ignored, and those who will be impacted upon by the report have had their voice silenced.


This is a complete disgrace

I couldn't agree more with your remarks ruby. This is an absolute disgrace and reduces fathers almost to an irrelevence in the lives of their children.

In many households following a split or divorce when the mother has a new partner, the partner has more influence on the children and spends more time with them, than the natural father.

This is a grave injustice and must be a cause for concern for many fathers who wish to have an equal role in the lives of their children.

I am totally disgusted.

I don't know why anyone is shocked by that when "call me Dave" made the statement on fathers day that divorced dads should be treated like social pariahs.
At least it confirms what I always say anyway that the Family and Divorce law in Britain is blatantly sexist in a womans favour.
Because a court will rule 99% of the time that the kids should live with the woman.It condones treating divorced Dad as an irrelevance in every other aspect of the childs life other than paying the mother the csa payment.
Once again His Royal Hawayness is proved right in his observations of how the process works.
Bag the kids Bag the money.
