Can you help? Form E what could make it better.

If you ever need to send the completed Form E or any other document by email (for printing/checking rather than editing) it may be worth downloading the free program called PDF995 and its printer driver. It allows you to create a PDF document from any program in which you can print.

It effectively creates a virtual printer which you select when you want to print and instead of coming out on the printer it creates a PDF. Very useful.

Also, I if you need to split pages from a PDF document (for any reason e.g. sending a few pages to someone rather than full doc) then I found this program which uses the same trick as above (virtual printer) where you specify which page(s) you want to 'print', specify the new file name and it will generate a pdf for you!

pdf995 will also do the same 'selective printing' but whichever works for you!

Update warning: new versions of Form E are compulsory from 6 April 2011 !
There are going to be different versions of Form E, one for divorce financial orders (the phrase "Ancillary relief" is being ditched) and one for variation applications, maintenance and the like where the full form is not necessary.

On the subject of software, there are software packages that some solicitors have that fill in totals etc automatically, but they are not really appropriate for people doing "one off" matters for themselves. I'm sure however that someone has done a Form E ­base­d on Excel (although it will be out of date on 6 April!)

Are these new forms available anywhere to have a look at?

In accordance with normal parliamentary efficiency - no. They've been preparing all this for years, and three weeks before we have to start actually using the forms we are still waiting to see them, but any second now...
They have published the Rules, at least! Ministry of Justice website if you want to try to read them (don't recommend it unless you have serious insomnia, or want to be a family lawyer!)

Hello, I've received a letter stating that I will need to fill out my Form E and file it in early May, so will have to use the new Form E. Any idea when they will be available?? It's stressful enough without having to do it all last minute due to new forms Thanks.
