Realise I've not blogged for a while......
So, what's happened in the meantime? Well, my son was taken on this stupid pre-arranged holiday with the STBX and her family. He told me over the last weekend that he was up until 3am (this is a 10 year old boy we're talking about) most nights! I doubt he got his times wrong, because he filled in all the time from about 8pm onwards..... his normal bed time is 8:15pm.
Had a lovely 3 1/2 days with him until 4:30pm yesterday (half term week) - went to the cinema (Night at the Museum 2 - which I'd seen with a friend the previous Saturday as well), went to the beach, went Kayaking, sorted the front garden out (he's a very outdoorsy sort of lad - wants to be a gardener when he's older :))
Spoke to a lady from my solicitors today - trying to keep emails and 'phone calls to a minimum - and had a good discussion about the STBX's behaviour and how it's not doing her any favours at all which was reassuring. As she said, most Mum's in this situation would be only too glad for a willing ex-husband to take their children off for a few hours. She advised that I have both my solicitor and barrister to represent me for the Contact and Residence hearing, which seems sound advice. If it's not already blindingly obvious, this is going to be a real battle! They'll let me know what the costs are and then I can make the final decision on which way to go.
In the meantime, my back is getting no better. I shall ring the GP in the morning to get an appointment and see if I can be referred to a Physiotherapist. Chest still hurts when I sneeze so I have to stop myself - you should try it sometime, it really isn't easy.
Decided I need to keep a log of 'phone contact for the next month or so before the first hearing - the STBX had previously said my son would 'phone me (because she said I wasn't allowed to 'phone her flat - for no reason) every other day - and of course that petered out after about 4 or 5 days.

You need a massage! Wait...haven't we had this conversation already?! Glad you've enjoyed your time with your son. I'm sorry you're facing the problems you are regarding contact and I really hope that your solicitor and barrister state your case well and in a positive manner. Is it likely you'll end up with other agencies involved? This might actually be a good thing as a good for you all. I hope today is a good one for you. Alison x |
